
TanrajĀ S. Sohal, Ambassador
Coordinator, Eye ClinicsTanraj is currently attending law school. Tanraj graduated with a BBA from the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University. He has been volunteering with Canadian Eyesight Global from a young age. He has helped to organize meetings and volunteering at numerous eye camps over the past several years. He has shown to be a vital part of the organization and is an ambassador for Canadian Eyesight Global. Tanraj is also a professional chess player and chess coach. He has been playing chess since he was 6 years old, and has represented Team Canada at many international tournaments. He has won the Canadian Chess Challenge Championship 9 times for his age, which is a National record and is currently the best chess player in BC regardless of age. Tanraj has extensively traveled across the world, and it is a huge honor to have him as part of this organization.

Darshan S Mann, PHF.
Born in 1941 in Chaukiman, Ludhiana. Migrated 1952 to Vancouver, and attended John Oliver High School. In 1966, Darshan joined BC Hydro as transit operator, until his retirement as a Transit Supervisor in 2002. In 1996, he joined the Rotary Club of Burnaby-Hastings with Mr Jubbal’s guidance, and held several positions within. Darshan has earned a PAUL HARRIS fellowship. In 2003, Darshan became a realtor consultant. The following year, he chartered the Burnaby Edmonds Lions International Club.
In 2018, he was recognized and given a George Doering Service Award by the Legislative of British Columbia and the Parliament of Canada for his extraordinary contribution to the community. Darshan has been a dedicated volunteer for more than 10 years supporting and helping Free Eye Health Clinics in British Columbia organized by Canadian Eyesight Global. He is now a caregiver.
